The Welsh Mountain Pony stud
was founded in 1972 with the purchase of 19466 Coed Coch Dwynen
from Lt Col E W Williams Wynn.
19466 Coed Coch Dwynen (1966-1995) Sire: COED COCH SALSBRI
Dam: COED COCH SAINT ANN by COED COCH PROFFWYD.
Dwynen was very successfully shown in brood mare classes
being champion and medal winner in top company.
Three of her daughters by different stallions were retained
and they and their descendants form the three lines prominent
in the herd to day. We have maintained the policy of retaining
homebred females and buying or leasing a stallion to bring
in an outcross.
However with the birth and retention of PANTYCOED KINGFISHER
46013 we are now able to consolidate the line to DWYNEN who
was a typical example of the best of Coed Coch.
