Welcome to Pantycoed Stud's Website

The stud is owned and managed by Louise Parry, assisted by son Andrew who became a partner in 2005.

Pantycoed Stud

Our stud is situated in 150 acres of permanent pasture on the edge of the Preseli Mountains in Pembrokeshire, West Wales. We have farmed here since 1979 continually striving to improve both the quality of our stock and the environment in which they are reared. The mild climate and high rainfall encourage good grass growth throughout most of the year something that, we believe, contributes to the success of our horses.

We hope you find your visit to our site enjoyable and informative.

Pivotal - Divina Mia

The final foal for 2009 arrived at Pantycoed this morning when DIVINA MIA produced  a brown colt by PIVOTAL. The colt, his dam's 12th foal, is half-brother to six winners, including stakeswinner ANTEDILUVIAN, and by the same sire as Pantycoed-bred classic winner SAOIRE.

Full details of all this season's Pantycoed foals are available on our 'Mares' page.

Four Rings

Pantycoed-bred TINSHU became the fourth winner from four foals out of  RING OF ESTEEM today when scoring readily at Wolverhampton. TINSHU was in utero when RING OF ESTEEM  was purchased in February 2006, since when all four of her foals have become winners, with her first produce MONTPELLIER picking up some blacktype when second in two Listed contests in Abu Dhabi last month.

'Classic' success

Classic Descent, 3yo half-brother to Pantycoed-bred classic winner SAOIRE, put the diappointment of his disqualification from a 2yo Newmarket  maiden win behind him when scoring an emphatic five length win over the same seven furlongs of the Rowley Mile.

The son of Auction House quickened away in the final furlong to give his owner Joe Joyce, who also raced SAOIRE, hopes of having another good one on his hands out of POLISH DESCENT.

He is the third Pantycoed-bred foal of 2005 to win, and the fourth winner from five foals of 2005 prepared at Pantycoed, the other being the foal purchase RELATIVE STRENGTH (see below)

2008 foalings

An ARAAFA colt born this morning is the fourth arrival at Pantycoed this year, and takes us to the halfway point in our 2008 foalings, with four mares still to foal.

A week early, but a good strong sort and a good advertisement for the first crop of his sire, he is the second foal out of Pantycoed-bred seven-time winner AND TOTO TOO.

The three older foals we have are another colt and two fillies. The colt, another by a first crop horse, and also  a great advertisement for his sire, ICEMAN, is out of KIRUNA, and is inbred to SPECIAL, to whom both sire and dam trace.

The two fillies, both attractive types, are a NEEDWOOD BLADE out of Pantycoed-bred 2yo winner SABLE N' SILK and a second ICEMAN, this one from the boarding mare ENNOBLING.
